We were touched and delighted to be invited to a special dinner to express gratitude for our service by two or our friends in the Branch. It was a night to remember! The electricity went off in the afternoon, but they still managed to cook a remarkable feast for us and the Sisters. It was fun to eat by candle light and flashlights.
The Sisters on the left are from Pakistan. The others are from the Philippines.
The table was set beautifully. It was laden with food--a great sacrifice for the family.
Everything was delicious. We had two tilapia, buttered vegetables with quail eggs (it's not easy to peel that many tiny eggs!), chicken, rice, pancit and some special dishes for our Pakistani Sisters. They had goat in them and were spicy so we filled up on all the other things. For dessert we had pumpkin flan (like pumpkin pie without the crust or whip cream) and puto, which is a soft, sweet steamed roll--very good. We were stuffed.
Our hearts are bound in the love of our Savior and his Gospel.
