The farmers were excited to see the rain because their crops need the water. Kids were excited for the water in the streets, rivers and in thier backyard. Parents were concerned that the rains would flood their homes and wash away all their food and furnishings. Fortunately, there was limited flooding and everyon was at church with a smile and a lot of wet hair.
We got 7.5 inches of rain last night from a brush-by of Typhoon Mawar. Life goes on... we went to church as usual, did some training, and drove an hour away to do some recommend interviews. The rivers are now filled with fast moving muddy rain waters. Some low areas were flooded, but everyone was still happy because there were no homes that were flooded out and the power was still on.
School starts tomorrow (June 4), so there will be a lot of excitement for the kids in the morning... school, more rain (all week) and a chance to walk home and splash in the puddles.
