Once dinner was cooked the father called all (the family, friends and relatives) together for FHE. We received a warm welcome and their oldest daughter was invited to lead the opening song. Proud parents!
We prepared the lesson and began by having them each read and discuss a scripture.
We showed them how easy it is to use the Gospel Art Book to develop a lesson. We selected two pictures from the Art Book and looked on the front pages and found the picture number and read the associated scriptures. Then we read the scriptures and acted out the scripture story and had some fun with it. There were smiles and laughs and lots of love at home.
We played some games after the lesson and had more fun. The looser of the game got a point and the person that got to three points first had to share a talent. Our missionaries were the lucky ones that got to share their musical talents and sang a hymn, "Families Can Be Together Forever".
When we were done with FHE the hot food was brought out to the table, right off the glowing wood coals. A blessing on the food was offered and the meal began. There was no table to sit up to, just take a plate, fill it up and find a place to sit. Rice, chicken ulam and sardines. This was a very special meal for this family. We were so honored and all were well fed tonight, both spiritually and temporally.

Kean-Kerry filled her plate and found a comfortable spot on a bench to enjoy it.

The family made us feel so very special. They honored our visit and the mantle of authority we bear as missionaries of the Lord Jesus Christ.
We left this wonderful family and expressed our gratitude for their hospitality and their commitment to hold FHE every week. The missionaries will return and follow up with them again next Monday evening.
We all felt the Spirit of the Lord as we met in this humble home with their family and friends. The Lord blessed them tonight and will bless each of us as we follow the council of the prophets and gather our families to hold Family Home Evening every week.
